The total area of the site is approximately 3.08 acres (1.25 hectares) and is accessed off the Frogfurlong Lane to the north of Innsworth Town Centre. The site is approximately 0.6 miles north of the A40. The site is surrounded by open countryside with Hatherley Brook located approximately 50-100m to the north of the site. Approximately 0.6 miles to the east are the Imjin Barracks (formerly RAF Innsworth). To the west of the site is a pumping station which will be retained by ST along with a right of way from Frogfurlong Lane.

    The site is located to the north of Gloucester, approximately 1km north of the A40, which marks the northern boundary of the main built up area of Gloucester. The site is flanked on all sides by countryside. A short distance (70-80m) to the north of the site is Hatherley Brook.

    Approximately 300m to the east of the site is Frogfurlong Lane, beyond which is Imjin Barracks (formerly RAF Innsworth).

    Access to the site is taken from Frogfurlong Lane across land which appears to be owned by another party (Robert Hitchins Ltd).

    The surrounding land, following the route of Hatherley Brook, is principally Flood Zone 3. The STW site is Flood Zone 2 or Flood Zone 3.
